How do we get started?
We will ask you to submit the information you have about your ancestors. If you have already collected this together you can send it by email or via our contact form, whichever suits you. Otherwise we can provide a template for you to complete. We will confirm receipt and get in touch by email or ‘phone if we need to check any details.

What information do you need from me?
Names, dates and places of birth of your relatives as far back as you know. You are likely to know more about certain branches of your family than others. This is absolutely fine – we work from your starting points.

How long will my family history report take?
One of the great things about family history research is that no two investigations are quite the same. We will keep you updated on progress and deliver your report within 3-4 weeks. If for any reason this won’t be possible (for example, in the run up to Christmas) we will let you know before work starts. We will update you as progress is made with your family tree, as sometimes pieces of information we uncover can jog memories that help with the research.

What about specific queries?
We aim to get back to you with a likely timescale within 24 hours of your enquiry. Our recommendation is usually to start with 2-3 hours research in the first instance.

How do we make payment?
We accept cheques, postal orders, or Paypal for secure online payment. We will request payment prior to sending your research report.

What if you can’t answer a specific query?
We will agree with you in advance how long we will spend working on a specific query, and how much this will cost. You will receive a list of all record sources searched even if we cannot find any relevant information.
